This FAQ is about our homeowner line of products found on Rainguard.com. If you are looking for information on our professional line of products found on RainguardPro.com please look at the specific category articles ("Water Repellents", "Anti-Graffiti Coatings", etc").

Q: Are any of the Project Sealers UV protectants?

A: No, however all of our Project Sealers are UV stable meaning they will not yellow crack or peel. If you are looking for a coating that offers UV protection, you can use Garage Floor Urethane Sealer

Q: Why choose a concentrate over a ready-to-use product?

A: We offer a concentrated form of all of our Premium Project sealers to help reduce waste and shipping costs by using smaller containers. This makes it so we can pass the savings on to you, the customer, which makes the concentrates a lower price. There is no difference in the performance of the sealer between the two. Think of it like this: in a concentrate product you add your own water and in a ready-to-use product, we add the water for you.

Q: How do I apply my Premium Project Sealer?

A: Download the application guide to read how to apply any of our Premium Project Sealers.

Q: What is the shelf life of my Premium Project Sealer?

A: The shelf life of Premium Project Sealers is 2 years when stored in a closed container in a temperature controlled environment (is not left out to freeze or in direct sunlight).

Q: Can I paint over my Premium Project Sealer at a later time?

Q: How long before I can paint over my Premium Project Sealer?

A: It is recommended that you wait at least 2-3 hours, depending on weather conditions, before painting over it.

Q: Can I tint my Premium Project Sealer?

A: No, the formula cannot be tinted for any of our Premium Project Sealers. Please consider Tinted Waterproofer or Garage Floor Sealer as pre-tinted alternatives.

Q: Can I apply my Premium Project Sealer onto fabric?

A: No, the Premium Project Sealer is designed specifically for the surface it was intended. If you need a water repellent for fabric, you can use Hydro-Lok.

A: You will need to wait at least 5 days before applying Stucco Sealer to new stucco.

Q: Can I apply Wood Sealer after I apply a stain on my wood surface?

A: After the stain has fully cured (contact stain manufacturer for cure time), perform a splash test by splashing some water onto the surface. If the surface absorbs the water (darkens after a few seconds) then you can apply Wood Sealer over the stain.
